[ When Chrom appears, Viktor is confused for a moment. He was just telling him (quite poorly because his keys are starting to become blurry) about this one time he dared Georgi to put skates on his hands and skate that way. And now he's here! He is and Viktor jumps from his seat, sways a little at the sudden movement but rights himself and leaps at Chrom, hugging him.
Good thing Mila has already successfully made him wear his shirt again so he's relatively presentable. ]
Chrom! [ He does this awkward dance where he shakes Chrom back and forth, as if he can't contain his excitement. It doesn't even occur to him that the others might not see Chrom. He's just so happy to see him. ] My knight in shining armour!
Vitya! [ Yakov barks, his hands propped on his hips like the nagging coach and guardian that he is. He doesn't seem fazed by Chrom's appearance at all. Meanwhile, Mila is grinning and elbowing a seemingly stupefied Georgi. Chrom did just appear out of thin air after all. ] Is this the man you have been meeting lately?
[ Viktor lets go of Chrom but still has an arm around him (mostly so he can keep upright). ] Yes, this is my Chrom. That's Yakov, Georgi and Mila. [ He waves a casual hand in their direction. He's told Chrom about them before, hasn't he? Beisdes, they're not the reason he's here. Chrom came for him so they're not important. ] Come to take me away? [ He gives him the best and brightest grin he can. ]
[Chrom immediately supports him, careful not to let him fall. He looks between his partner and Viktor's... he's not sure what word to classify them as a group at the moment. "Vitya"? A curious nickname, but perhaps one he isn't permitted to touch?]
Ah... I came to check on you, due to the odd nature of your initial message. You had me worried.
[But bonds are important to him. He openly gives Viktor an affectionate caress along his nape, letting his hand settle between his shoulder blades. He then turns to the others, and gives a bit of a bow of his head.]
...Somehow, I'm surprised that you call can see me, let alone hear me. A pleasure to make your acquaintances, Yakov, Mila, and Georgi. Viktor has told me about you.
[His smile is soft and honest as he regards them. Hopefully Viktor has accounted for the fact that Chrom enjoys being seen, and likes to speak with those who do.
[It may be a short bit before Viktor can snag all of his date's attention again.]
As Viktor said, my name is Chrom.
[Thinking a moment, he modified his attire to be a more modern, though Falchion remained at his hip. The clothing hugged his muscular body. He hoped it would make him a little bit easier to... digest, visually. Or maybe it would throw them off more. Who knew?]
I intend on borrowing him for a time.
[Just to make that clear. That he hadn't forgotten that Viktor seemed to want to leave. As it was, Chrom dared not check if Viktor had any underwear on or not. He hoped he did. With the shirt in the way, he couldn't really tell.]
[ Viktor has been feeling disconnected from the conversation (the whole world, even, much to Yakov's exasperation; but Yakov's also easily irritated by a lot of things...). He finally notices Chrom talking, but not to him, and then it hits him. He gives an excited squeak and squeezes Chrom's arm, his head swiveling back and forth between Chrom and the others. ]
You are--! Chrom, they can see you! That's wonderful!
[ He drags Chrom closer to their table, his legs a tad wobbly, and hands him a whole bottle of vodka. He returns the thumbs up Mila gave him, and even sends one Yakov's way, who ignores him and seems to be scrutinising Chrom. Viktor's pretty sure he's mentioned this thing about Chrom being invisible to most and Yakov must be finding him interesting. Or, maybe he's surprised that Chrom's real and Viktor didn't just dream him up.)
Georgi, on the other hand, is simply staring openly at Chrom. This prompts Viktor to turn his attention back to Chrom and he notices that he has changed his attire. While Viktor doesn't mind this at all, he really likes looking at Chrom in his suit, all dashing and majestic. He eyed his own disheveled clothes and shrugged. They're lucky he still had his pants on. ]
Drink!
[ Chrom would have to do this with one hand because Viktor's still clinging to the other. ]
[It's hard to tell, but Chrom has no idea what he's been given, what it will do to him, and how it will taste. He glances between the bottle in his hand and the table, and then borrows a glass he sees there to fill it with the vodka. Only halfway.
[What is his life.
[Giving Viktor a light squeeze to his hand, he then knocks back the vodka... and immediately regrets it. He very nearly spits it out, but manages to swallow, only to wheeze and look at Viktor with an expression of utter betrayal.]
What the hell was that.. that...?! Viktor! Is this your way of scolding me for something??
[Even in his past life, he'd never been one for alcohol. At least, the harder stuff.]
[ His exclamation is both as response to Chrom's question and him not liking the drink. It was a celebration for being seen by his friends and he hoped Chrom would like it. Straight vodka is not for everyone, it seems.
Meanwhile, Yakov lets out a howl of laughter. He then speaks in Russian, which is an indication of how intoxicated he is, too. ]
What is this? Vitya, your man is not man enough for vodka. At least there's more for you, huh?
[ Viktor pouts at the shot at Chrom. He replies in Russian as well. ]
You're one to talk, Yasha. [ Nicknames and glares all around. ] You've had, what? Three glasses and you're all like that? [ That shut him up, all right. Georgi seems to have come back from the dead and is now laughing with Mila.
Viktor turns his attention back to Chrom with a bright smile. ]
Maybe, if we mix it with juice and make it a cocktail?
[In reaction, despite the language barrier, Chrom finds that he can understand what's being spoken, anyway. Other than a slight shift in tone, it all sounds like the same language to him. His cheeks burn in embarrassment. "Not man enough" huh....
[Chrom still looks a little unsettled when Viktor talks to him again, and he gives a suspicious glance to the bottle of vodka.]
...It can actually taste good? I feel like, trying to drink that, I was trying to consume something that wasn't something I should.
[Still blushing up to his cheekbones, he keeps his gaze averted from everyone else. What if he really wasn't man enough for Viktor? Ah, no. Viktor had never said such things, and even defended him, so it obviously wasn't true. Taking a breath, he glanced over to Yakov, willing some of his blush to go away.]
Furthermore, I don't appreciate being insulted over this, sir Yakov. Maybe you should try arguing my manliness after you've got some experience in swordplay under your belt. I'll gladly duel with you to see who is stronger.
[He knew that manliness and drinking had the exact same bond as manliness and swordplay: absolutely none.]
[ Viktor instantly sobers up when he feels the tension in the air. He can handle teasings and trash talk (and dishes them out generously as well), but actual friction between people is not something he knows or wants to deal with. But, this is Chrom and Yakov, two of the people closest to him, so he has to try to do... something.
As always, Viktor's first thoughts are to touch and sweet talk because they have always worked for him. He points a warning finger at Yakov to shush him before throwing his arms around Chrom's neck and hugging him tightly. He then speaks in a whisper--awkward laughter punctuating his every few words--so he won't be heard by Yakov and the other two. ]
Please don't kill Yakov. He was just being a dummy. Besides, even if he knew swordplay, he won't match up to you because he's quite drunk on top of being very old and fragile.
[ He draws back, fingers interlaced behind Chrom's neck, and smiles at him sheepishly. He knows this isn't enough, not even a bit, but if sober him doesn't even know what to do, drunk him has no hope whatsoever. ]
[Chrom doesn't actually hold any ill will; it was just a result of his brash nature. One that he immediately regrets when he sees how uncomfortable he's made Viktor. He frowns immediately, brow knitting in worry. Uncaring of their audience, he presses a kiss to Viktor's lips in apology. To his credit, at least, it's brief and rather chaste. He can taste the alcohol on his breath, but... mixed with Viktor's scent, it's not as bad as he was thinking it might be.]
I'm sorry. I would like that.
[His voice is similarly quiet, and to punctuate his intent, he presses another kiss to his lover's(?) cheek.]
[ Viktor visibly relaxes at Chrom's kisses and assurance and he gives him another quick hug response.
He then speaks in a louder voice to make a point when he lets him go. What point, Vitya? ]
I mean, you can talk back to him--I always do--but I'd rather not have my coach [ who has been his father figure for the longest time ] sent to the hospital.
[ He winks at Yakov who starts sputtering, telling him off in Russian again, but he ignores him and pushes Chrom down into a seat farthest from Yakov, right beside Georgi. ]
I'll go ask them if I can borrow their bar.
[ He might have to be extra sweet and probably pay more but surely they won't refuse him. He'll bound away happily if Chrom doesn't have any more to say. ]
