[It's hard to tell, but Chrom has no idea what he's been given, what it will do to him, and how it will taste. He glances between the bottle in his hand and the table, and then borrows a glass he sees there to fill it with the vodka. Only halfway.
[What is his life.
[Giving Viktor a light squeeze to his hand, he then knocks back the vodka... and immediately regrets it. He very nearly spits it out, but manages to swallow, only to wheeze and look at Viktor with an expression of utter betrayal.]
What the hell was that.. that...?! Viktor! Is this your way of scolding me for something??
[Even in his past life, he'd never been one for alcohol. At least, the harder stuff.]
[ His exclamation is both as response to Chrom's question and him not liking the drink. It was a celebration for being seen by his friends and he hoped Chrom would like it. Straight vodka is not for everyone, it seems.
Meanwhile, Yakov lets out a howl of laughter. He then speaks in Russian, which is an indication of how intoxicated he is, too. ]
What is this? Vitya, your man is not man enough for vodka. At least there's more for you, huh?
[ Viktor pouts at the shot at Chrom. He replies in Russian as well. ]
You're one to talk, Yasha. [ Nicknames and glares all around. ] You've had, what? Three glasses and you're all like that? [ That shut him up, all right. Georgi seems to have come back from the dead and is now laughing with Mila.
Viktor turns his attention back to Chrom with a bright smile. ]
Maybe, if we mix it with juice and make it a cocktail?
[In reaction, despite the language barrier, Chrom finds that he can understand what's being spoken, anyway. Other than a slight shift in tone, it all sounds like the same language to him. His cheeks burn in embarrassment. "Not man enough" huh....
[Chrom still looks a little unsettled when Viktor talks to him again, and he gives a suspicious glance to the bottle of vodka.]
...It can actually taste good? I feel like, trying to drink that, I was trying to consume something that wasn't something I should.
[Still blushing up to his cheekbones, he keeps his gaze averted from everyone else. What if he really wasn't man enough for Viktor? Ah, no. Viktor had never said such things, and even defended him, so it obviously wasn't true. Taking a breath, he glanced over to Yakov, willing some of his blush to go away.]
Furthermore, I don't appreciate being insulted over this, sir Yakov. Maybe you should try arguing my manliness after you've got some experience in swordplay under your belt. I'll gladly duel with you to see who is stronger.
[He knew that manliness and drinking had the exact same bond as manliness and swordplay: absolutely none.]
[ Viktor instantly sobers up when he feels the tension in the air. He can handle teasings and trash talk (and dishes them out generously as well), but actual friction between people is not something he knows or wants to deal with. But, this is Chrom and Yakov, two of the people closest to him, so he has to try to do... something.
As always, Viktor's first thoughts are to touch and sweet talk because they have always worked for him. He points a warning finger at Yakov to shush him before throwing his arms around Chrom's neck and hugging him tightly. He then speaks in a whisper--awkward laughter punctuating his every few words--so he won't be heard by Yakov and the other two. ]
Please don't kill Yakov. He was just being a dummy. Besides, even if he knew swordplay, he won't match up to you because he's quite drunk on top of being very old and fragile.
[ He draws back, fingers interlaced behind Chrom's neck, and smiles at him sheepishly. He knows this isn't enough, not even a bit, but if sober him doesn't even know what to do, drunk him has no hope whatsoever. ]
[Chrom doesn't actually hold any ill will; it was just a result of his brash nature. One that he immediately regrets when he sees how uncomfortable he's made Viktor. He frowns immediately, brow knitting in worry. Uncaring of their audience, he presses a kiss to Viktor's lips in apology. To his credit, at least, it's brief and rather chaste. He can taste the alcohol on his breath, but... mixed with Viktor's scent, it's not as bad as he was thinking it might be.]
I'm sorry. I would like that.
[His voice is similarly quiet, and to punctuate his intent, he presses another kiss to his lover's(?) cheek.]
[ Viktor visibly relaxes at Chrom's kisses and assurance and he gives him another quick hug response.
He then speaks in a louder voice to make a point when he lets him go. What point, Vitya? ]
I mean, you can talk back to him--I always do--but I'd rather not have my coach [ who has been his father figure for the longest time ] sent to the hospital.
[ He winks at Yakov who starts sputtering, telling him off in Russian again, but he ignores him and pushes Chrom down into a seat farthest from Yakov, right beside Georgi. ]
I'll go ask them if I can borrow their bar.
[ He might have to be extra sweet and probably pay more but surely they won't refuse him. He'll bound away happily if Chrom doesn't have any more to say. ]

[The glowing eyes probably makes it almost impossible.]
....I'm still surprised that you all can see me, honestly.
